| Each survey is designed and stored completely online, meaning there is no need to download any software onto your computer. In addition, any updates are automatically loaded onto the website. Registration to use the software is free. |
| A survey is designed as a series of question modules. In its simplest form, a question module can simply be a single question, as in a traditional survey. However, it can be much more powerful than this, since the software allows the response to each question to be explored in a lot of detail, before moving on to the next question. Each question module contains a flowchart structure which is built up by ‘dragging and dropping’ appropriate building blocks onto the screen. |
| The following is an illustration of how a typical questionnaire is built up. |
| To start the design process, we click on the “Add Question” button. |
| After labeling the new question as “product usage”, it appears as below. We can change the label by pressing the “Edit” button and can delete the question by pressing the “Delete” button. To specify a question flow, we push the “View” button. |
| The question flow is built up by dragging and dropping building blocks from the bar at the top of the screen onto an empty box marked with a question mark. |
| Now fill in the information required in order to use the chosen building block. This would include the text of the question, any comments or instructions to be given to the respondent, a label for the question, the subsequent flow, etc. |
| Build up your survey flowchart by repeating Step 4 – ie. continue to drag building blocks onto boxes containing question marks, according to your specific requirements. Eventually, there should be no open question marks, with each branch of the resulting tree ending in a suitable termination point (e.g. “Next Question Module”). |
The next question module can be built up by pressing the “Add Question” button below the “Product Usage” question module.
The new question module might be labeled “Product Satisfaction” and could contain a series of question, contained in a suitable flowchart, with the aim of exploring the respondent’s level of satisfaction with the product or product category. |
| The process is repeated until a whole questionnaire has been built up. |
