| Marketing Mayhem has developed a revolutionary new web-based survey design tool that completely changes the way surveys are designed. |
| Traditional survey design tools require the market researcher to set out a long list of text questions, one after the other. Any logical flows between the questions must then be handled by means of cumbersome and difficult-to-follow rules specifications. |
Marketing Mayhem’s radical new approach is to view the survey as a series of questions and building blocks which are set out in a visually appealing and easy-to-follow flowchart format.
Not only does this provide a much more intuitive representation, but it also allows for an unprecedented level of intelligence that can be built into the survey. The questions which are presented to a respondent can differ according to the responses given to previous questions and according to the profile of the respondent. This is achieved in a way that no other survey design tool has ever been able to do.
|
| The illustration below shows part of a survey relating to product usage. The flowchart is built up by ‘dragging and dropping’ appropriate question blocks onto the empty boxes. |
 |
The system would start off by asking the respondent whether or not he or she used a particular product. The next question would then depend critically on the respondent’s reply.
If the respondent did, in fact, make use of the product then the system would explore the frequency of use. We could then obtain even greater insights by exploring the differences between respondents who only use the product once a week versus those who use it more frequently, and so on.
If the respondent did not make use of the product, then the system could ask the respondent why this is the case. It could even automatically ask different questions to male and female respondents (as illustrated) in order to explore gender differences in more detail.
